u.s. immigration and customs enforcement agents conducted numerous raids on amelia island and fernandina beach early this morning.
city officials said they were notified by u.s.
customs of the action earlier today. ice agents were spotted at the circle k service station next to ace hardware on eighth street, the shave bridge, and near the omni hotel.
more than a dozen people were detained.
